Moore: Daniels was like an assassin

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore labelled Cherries left back Charlie Daniels an 'assassin' following the League One leaders first defeat of the season on Saturday.

After leading at half time, AFC Bournemouth came back from a goal behind to secure all three points following three goals from Marc Pugh, Harry Arter and Simon Francis.

Tranmere manager Moore believes that his team was hard done by the referee, especially the treatment that Abdulai Bell-Baggie received from Cherries full back Charlie Daniels.

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore told tranmererovers.co.uk...

'...The Bournemouth full-back was like an assassin, I mean how many challenges were missed...'

In response to those comments, Daniels told the Daily Echo...

"It is the way we play. If he is a danger, you have got to try to stop him. In some ways, that is a compliment to him.

"He was the man I was up against and my job was to try to stop him getting in crosses and shots and I felt I did that.

"I didn`t concede one foul in the first half. I gave away a free-kick in the second half when he was running at me. I took him out because he would have been on goal if he had got past me."
