AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was delighted with his sides second half comeback against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.
Returning to the Dean Court dugout for the first time since January 2011, Howe made just two changes with Josh McQuoid coming in for Eunan O'Kane and Harry Arter replacing the injured Richard Hughes.
The Cherries started brightly against a Tranmere side that had gone unbeaten in their first twelve games of the season, winning nine with a goal difference of +21. But a mistake from captain Miles Addison to first concede a weak throw in and to then be beaten by his man who crossed for Jake Jervis to beat David James meant that Tranmere went in at the break 1-0 up.
The second half however was similar to last weekend against Leyton Orient with constant backing from the home side lifting the players.
A Marc Pugh free-kick which appeared to hit Miles Addison on route to hitting Ben Gibson brought the scores level, before Harry Arter fired the Cherries into the lead before the hour mark.
The three points were wrapped up on 70 minutes when a clever free-kick was drilled home by Simon Francis.
Howe told the Daily Echo...
"...In the first half, we tried to play, they sat in and made it difficult and we didn`t create a lot.
"In the second half, I thought we really got going, as did the crowd, and it was a really good half in the end.
"Huge credit must go to the players. We were 1-0 down at home against the league leaders and the second half was a really good fightback."
