Howe: Always liked Stockley

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is hopeful that he can help youngster Jayden Stockley's development.

AFCB Vital sponsored Jayden Stockley has so far this season been involved in the newly created development squad and has enjoyed being part of Chris Hargreaves new set-up, scoring a number of goals including two stunning free-kicks against Forest Green Rovers and Exeter.

Stockley didn't feature for the Cherries at all during Paul Groves brief tenure as manager of AFC Bournemouth, with his last appearance coming against Oldham last season in former manager Lee Bradbury's final game in charge.

With Eddie Howe returning to the club this week, Stockley has been training back with the first team squad and Howe hopes he can work out why he hasn't developed as far as he thought he would have done during his time with Burnley.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Jayden is someone who I have always liked and someone I thought could develop into a good player.

"I would need to find out the reasons and see where he is in terms of why he hasn`t quite developed as we thought he would.

"That doesn`t mean he can`t and he is still young enough to have a good career in the game so we really need to get a handle on where he is...'
