AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell believes the club are 'very fortunate' to be benefiting from the financial input from Russian businessman Maxim Demin.
Mitchell was being asked about the financial position of the club following twelve months of heavy spending on the new Kings Park training pitches, development of the facilities at the Goldsands Stadium and investment in the playing squad.
Reports by the BBC have also suggested that the deal to bring Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall back to the club from Burnley also cost in the region of £1.4million, however Mitchell would neither confirm or deny the reports due to the negotiations and agreement being confidential.
However he did state that if Eddie Howe wanted backing in January to strengthen the squad then he would do his best to support him.
Mitchell told BBC Radio Solent...
I don't see how they (the finances) can be insecure if we're spending money on the club, the players, the infrastructure.'
'We're very, very fortunate to have someone who's as keen in his desire to win as my partner and we all owe him a big debt of gratitude...'
'...I've said from day one that we're always looking to improve, and if that means bringing in players then that's what it means. If Eddie feels he needs to strengthen, he'll come to see me and we'll try and accommodate him.'
