Pugh: Howe & Tindall return has lifted everyone

AFC Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh believes that the Cherries team benefitted from a lift from the supporters and a confidence boost from scoring the opening goal.

Whilst the Dean Court faithful were celebrating the return of former manager Eddie Howe and assistant Jason Tindall, the atmosphere around the Goldsands Stadium was the best it has been in a long time and that lifted the players to their first home win of the season against Leyton Orient.

With the three points secured, Pugh's attentions turned to next week, with Howe's first game against top of the league Tranmere.

Pugh told afcb.co.uk...

"...As soon as the first goal went in, we started playing our game and the pressure was off. We just needed to get that goal to boost our confidence and we just went on from there. It`s nice that we got a clean sheet as well and everyone was superb...'

'...The players had a real lift from the supporters. They were right behind us throughout the game and it was great to play in what was a party atmosphere. Eddie and Jason coming back has lifted everyone. I know the supporters are absolutely delighted with it and they will hopefully bring success for the club.

"The hard work starts again under Eddie and Jason as we prepare for the Tranmere game next week. They are flying at the top of the league. We have to aim for back to back wins and shoot up that league table. If we can get a few wins on the bounce, then suddenly you are looking down the table instead of up."
