MacDonald: Overdue a bit of luck

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald is pleased to be back in contention for the first team.

The Cherries midfielder missed Paul Groves last four games in charge of the team, but returned for last Saturday's defeat to Coventry.

AFC Bournemouth first team coach Dennis Rofe, named MacDonald in his first starting eleven in temporary charge of the first team and MacDonald featured for the first 75 minutes before he was withdrawn for Matt Tubbs as the Cherries attempted to get themselves back into the game.

With four consecutive defeats, MacDonald hopes that the Cherries can receive a bit of overdue luck against Leyton Orient this Saturday at Dean Court.

MacDonald told afcb.co.uk...

"It has been frustrating for me, It`s not like I have had any serious injuries, but with games on Saturdays and Tuesdays, I seem to get little knocks and not have the time to recover.

"I`m now fit, ready and looking forward to the Leyton Orient game on Saturday. We know it will be a tough game and they will be confident after their win over Barnet.

"Confidence is a big part of football and it`s something that we need to bring in to our game. You get confidence through hard work and ability, which is something we can control, and also a bit of luck - something we are overdue...'
