Mitchell: A work in progress

AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has revealed that he is waiting to hear back from a potential candidate for the managerial position at Dean Court.

The Cherries chairman has held several telephone interviews with a few applicants and believes that talks with one candidate could progress to a second interview.

The Daily Echo believe Burnley manager Eddie Howe still tops the Cherries managerial shortlist, but have speculated that Steve Cotterill could also remain a possible contender, while Andy Thorn, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Ince, Alan Curbishley, Sean Dyche, Lawrie Sanchez and Gary Waddock have also been linked to the role.

Mitchell told the Daily Echo...

"We have interviewed a couple of people. One of them has gone away who I think would be great for the club.

"We are hoping to hear back from him and there could then be a possibility of a second interview with them and I could possibly give you some news. But, as it is, we haven`t heard back so we are still waiting...'

'...these things take time and people have things to consider and there are agents involved and things like that, so it is a work in progress."

How about Steve Stone for manager? He must be about ready to start a managerial career and Harry will know all about him.

Out of possible managers in order of the ones I would want most are... Cotterill, Howe, Dyche, Robinson, Ince, Hoddell. Not too shore about Hoddell as apparently he's just like Groves???
