Mitchell: We might make approaches

AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has not ruled out making approaches to other club in regards to finding a new manager for the Cherries.

On Wednesday Paul Groves and his assistant Shaun Brooks were both sacked from their roles at the Goldsands Stadium and the search for a new manager got under way.

Mitchell has already met with a few possible candidates, but with the Cherries linked to various managers currently in work, the AFC Bournemouth chairman has not ruled out making an official approach to other clubs in order to speak to currently employed managers.

AFC Bournemouth over the past week have been linked with Burnley manager Eddie Howe, Yeovil boss Gary Johnson, MK Dons manager Karl Robinson and Carlisle manager Greg Abbott.

Mitchell told afcb.co.uk...

'...He has to be determined, he has to be strong and he has to play football in the right way. He has to please the fans by getting results and looking after the young lads that we have got coming through."

"I think there is every possibility that we could end up approaching a club for someone who is currently in work but we'll have to wait and see,"

"There have been managers that have caught my eye over the last few years and I would not rule out taking that route..."

Some interesting managers in the mix for who it's its going to be! I just hope its one of these instead of a non league manager for Dorchester.

In my lifetime we have had three golden periods under three great managers: John Bond, Harry Redknapp, and Eddie Howe. One thing they all have in common is that they all started their careers at Bournemouth. History shows us that when we bring in managers with supposedly proven records it doesn’t work. When we give an opportunity to a talented manager to start his career with us it does work. That’s what we need to find again.

Shouldn't have gone for the cheap option with Bradbury and Groves. You're the problem with this club Mitchell.

^Prehaps Mitchell is the problem with the club but to be honest I don't recall anyone complaining when Groves & Bradderz first got the job. Just sayin...

Sorry but you could not be more wrong. Most fans saw Groves/Brookes as A The cheap option B Another example, in Brookes case of Mitchell's rampant nepotism. Their spell in charge last season produced nothing to getxited about. ost fans were against this appointment and have been proved right.
