Howe: Proud to be Burnley manager
Burnley manager Eddie Howe has said that he is proud to manager of Championship side Burnley following speculation linking him with a return to the south coast.
The Cherries sacked management duo Paul Groves and Shaun Brooks on Wednesday and the bookmakers installed former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as the early favourite for the role.
On Wednesday evening the local Bournemouth Daily Echo reported that the Cherries could be set to make an official approach to Burnley to enquire about Howe's availability and while the Lancashire Telegraph have suggested that Howe would not be interested in a return to AFC Bournemouth at 'this stage of his career', Howe stopped short of completely ruling out a possible return during his Thursday pre-match press conference.
Howe told the Lancashire Telegraph...
"This is a Bournemouth story and not really one I should be commenting on.
"I`m proud to be Burnley manager, we've just started the job. We feel there's a long way to go."
