AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves believes that midfielder Josh Carmichael has a strong future ahead of him.
The 18 year old made his second appearance for the Cherries on Saturday when he was introduced as a 60 minute substitute during the 2-1 defeat to Walsall.
Groves believes that the youngster, who has only recently returned to full fitness following a knee injury, impressed during is half an hour appearance and that he could compete for the a regular first team place.
Groves told afcb.co.uk...
"I know Josh, I`ve worked with him before and I`m well aware of his qualities and capabilities, He had to come through some adversity after he misplaced a couple of passes and some of the crowd went against him. But he`s one of their own, he went to Poole Grammar School and might even have gone to school with some of the people on the terraces.
"But he showed great mental strength to come through that and was probably one of the most effective players in the last 20 minutes. That`s the level of quality he has and I`m sure Josh is capable of going on and playing for this football club for many years to come.
"I wasn`t surprised by the impact he had and if the circumstances had been slightly different, then he may have started. But we have to take into account his age and where he is physically because he`s come off the back of a long lay-off."
