Davids: I hope I can get some minutes

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lorenzo Davids is hopeful he can make his debut for the Cherries against Walsall on Saturday.

Davids joined AFC Bournemouth in August as a free agent after leaving top flight German Bundesliga side Augsburg where he made 20 appearances during the 2011/12 season.

Before moving to Germany, Davids had also played in the top flight of Dutch football, making over 130 appearances for Eredivisie side Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie after leaving Feyenoord without making an appearance.

He signed a two year contract at Dean Court, but has been forced to wait to make his debut due to an ankle injury.

He initially continued his rehabilitation in Germany, but joined up with the squad earlier this month and joined in with full training this week.

Davids told afcb.co.uk...

"I can`t tell you how much I want to play. I hope I can get some minutes, I don`t know what the coach is going to do but I hope I can play, I`m feeling good. I have been here for two or three weeks, and in the last week I have trained with the squad and I`m enjoying it.

"For me to see the other players out on the training pitch was really difficult because I really wanted to train.

"Now I`m training it is easier for me because I learn from the other players and I can learn about them. I like the way we play and I hope I can become an important player."

I'm concerned that we are being teased with the prospects of seeing new players on Saturday to try and keep the gate up. I must admit that after the first 8 games, I am feeling less and less inclined to keep paying £20 every week and was probably going to follow the Walsall game with a laptop and a radio. The prospect of seeing a few new players that might shake things up is enough to tempt me into giving the match on Saturday a chance, but sods law says this is just a tease and James and Davids will be on the bench, if in the squad at all...

Davids seems to me one of the small number of players that actually are going to make a differnce.

Real positive about Davids I have a good feeling about this guy, if he can stay fit. Holding role instead of Partington and James in Goal with Demouge upfront with Tubbsy, Grabban on the right, Pugh on the left, Hughes centre of the park much better feeling too it

But unfortunatly this may never happen because no one can seem to stay fit >:(
