Hard: Scan revealed ACL strain for Francis

AFC Bournemouth physio Steve Hard believes that right back Simon Francis will be on the sidelines for six weeks.

The full back who won the player of the month award for August suffered an anterior cruciate ligament strain against Brentford.

Francis played through the injury to end the game, but missed the Cherries trip to Swindon Town last weekend and went to see a London consultant regarding the injury.

The former Charlton defender will not require surgery, but will be out of action for at least six weeks.

Hard told afcb.co.uk...

"Simon felt his knee in the Brentford game. There was no impact, he intercepted the ball with his right foot and squatted on his standing leg. He flicked out of it and he felt it give,"

"We were very concerned about it and we had him scanned the next day. It revealed an anterior cruciate ligament strain and that he had also damaged the back of his knee as well.

"The results of this were very good and better than anticipated. The surgeon looked and the scans and examined Simon and said there was no need for an operation and that it should settle naturally with rehabilitation...

I must point out that with this massive expensive squad we have 1 official RB, 0 official RM, 1 official LM but 11 natural centre mids & 8 natural strikers. We have also got 9 injureys with the best goalkeeper, the best & only right back, the best 3 midfielders & best 2 strikers IMO. We have a manager who has had a team relegated & has a current statistic win% of 16.6 at our club & %19.9 overall. YEAH! I think this sums up everything ;)
