Development squad draw with Exeter

AFC Bournemouth development squad drew 2-2 with Exeter on Tuesday afternoon on the Kings Park development pitches.

AFC Bournemouth development coach Chris Hargreaves named a familiar side with with Benjamin Büchel in goal, with the defence made up of Case, Bowles, Strugnell and Jonathan Meades.

In midfield Jamal and Gilkes were joined by trialist Dean Florence and Makoni, while up front was again Chiedozie and AFCB Vital sponsored Jayden Stockley.

The first half was watched by the entire AFC Bournemouth coaching set-up including Cherries advisor and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp, who left at half time.

By that stage Redknapp had already seen three goals, with some nice exchanges from both sides.

AFC Bournemouth had fallen behind early on due to a soft penalty which was despatched by Tom Nicholls, but the Cherries found an equaliser when Harrison Gilkes scored.

Exeter restored their lead before half time when a slick passing move left the Cherries defence chasing shadows before Jamie Reid tucked the ball past Büchel.

The second half was a much tighter affair with the only goal coming from a nice free kick from Stockley.

Hargreaves told afcb.co.uk...

"We struggled in the first half but we dominated in the second when we got our passing game going. It`s good to see us try to work out how to play against them without changing our shape and approach,"

"We finished the game strongly and perhaps could have won it."
