Mitchell: We want to bring Redknapp closer
AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell intends to hold talks with Harry Redknapp over bringing him closer to the set up at the Goldsands Stadium.
Earlier this month, Redknapp re-joined AFC Bournemouth in a non-contract, un-paid advisory position.
Redknapp has attended Cherries games at Yeovil and at Dean Court since the announcement, although its been reported that he did not travel to Swindon on Saturday.
Redknapp agreed to join the club as an 'advisor' due to Redknapp having previously worked with Cherries manager Paul Groves and assistant Shaun Brooks as part of Redknapp's coaching staff at Fratton Park, while manager of Portsmouth.
Mitchell told the Daily Echo...
"I have said in the past we have got on our doorstep one of the best managers in the country. I have spoken to Paul about bringing Harry closer and need to discuss it with Harry.
"It would be one of many steps we would need to take to change and improve. We have got to re-examine everything. We are all trying to gain knowledge from Harry and, hopefully, we will.
"It would be great to be able to have that knowledge around the club and I would like to be able to bring it closer and that is what I am going to try to do."

Don't make a big deal out of Harry not going to the game on Saturday. He was working for MOTD all day!!!

I can understand the fact that Eddie doesn't want to be someone constantly sacking managers & that for me is a good thing but when you look other mangers in the league they don't have someone like Rednapp holding there hand. Groves to me if he really is a good manager than he would sort the problem out himself otherwise just don't bother. Eddie is being too friendly & it's now time to search for a manager that can get the job done his way *cough* Steve Cotterill *cough*
