Di Canio: Big respect for Redknapp

Swindon Town manager Paulo Di Canio has praised AFC Bournemouth 'advisor' Harry Redknapp for getting back involved with the Cherries.

Redknapp returned to Dean Court earlier this month to take an unpaid, non-contracted advisory role at the club.

The former Cherries manager has previously worked with AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves and assistant manager Shaun Brooks at Portsmouth and was happy to come on board in a more official capacity after holding talks with AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell.

Redknapp previously signed Paulo Di Canio at West Ham and the now Swindon manager believes the move shows the type of football man Redknapp is.

Di Canio told the Swindon Advertiser...

"That shows straight away that he loves to be involved anyway and probably he did that for the friendships he`s got there because otherwise it is strange that a manager him has to work,"

"When you work in this way it is serious, it is not something just to be involved by telephone.

"That proves what kind of person he is. Obviously he`s a rich man and everyone can say it is easy for him to be involved for nothing but it`s not easy because why (would he do it)?

"Even if he is a rich man he wants to do this for passion and help a club in League One and I have big respect for him."
