Groves: Get behind the team

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves has called for the fans to get behind the team.

Some sections of the Dean Court crowd turned on the Cherries management team against Hartlepool on Saturday, with the performances roundly booed at half time and full time, with some disgruntled fans chanting for Groves to be sacked.

The Cherries have struggled to find the goals required to show a clear promotion intention this season with one win, one defeat and four draws coming from the opening six games of the new League One campaign.

Since Paul Groves became manager of AFC Bournemouth, replacing Lee Bradbury in March the Cherries record stands at 3 wins from 16.

Groves insists he understands the fans frustrations, but called for them to get behind the team against Brentford.

Groves told the Daily Echo...

"They support the team, get behind the team.

"I understand their frustrations in respect of not getting a win (on Saturday). We came away with a draw, had two good chances towards the end of the game and took one of them. They were frustrated because we couldn`t break down the opposition."

It's the fans fault that the team is c*** then Paul is it? Nothing to do with your organisational & motivational skills then!
believe!

^^already said but I'll add my bit too! We are obviously behind the team - we support them. You have become a bit of a draw specialist and a bit limited in the tactical department. Your win ratio is relegation form and we can't afford that with our wage bill. You can keep buying all you want but it won't make you a better manager. Sadly.

Three wins from 16 - time to say good bye Paul! Bradbury had more idea than you have and much less of a budget. Cheerio!

@Believe: Tbh honest I don't believe thats what he's saying.

But he is right about getting behind the team and there wasn't much evidence of that on Saturday.

the fans have been behind AFCB through thick & thin the last few years, we've had to endure more than most clubs would in a lifetime so if we wish to voice our opinions - who the hell are the d1cks in charge or afew others on this forum to tell us we're wrong? its only because we damn well care about our club that it has got to this, besides the problem is with the clueless manager and his (lack of) tactical nous - not the team or the club as a whole
