Gregory set for Wimbledon return

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Steven Gregory is set to return to AFC Wimbledon, 14 months after leaving Kingsmeadow.

The 25 year old midfielder was signed by former Cherries manager Lee Bradbury for £55,000 in July 2011 and went on to make 32 appearances last season, including 4 under new manager Paul Groves (one start against Huddersfield).

This season he has only made one appearance in the League Cup against Oxford and with the additions of Richard Hughes and Lorenzo Davids his chances are likely to diminish over the next few weeks.

Gregory has agreed a 93 day loan move, which could see him make his return for AFC Wimbledon on Saturday against Rochdale.

Gregory told afcwimbledon.co.uk...

"I have known that I would be going out on loan for the last few weeks and there were a few clubs I had been speaking to, none of which were Wimbledon. I was about to sign for another club earlier in the week, but then Simon Bassey rang me up on Monday and said do not sign for anyone because we want you here. As soon as I heard that I wanted it to happen and I am glad to be back here."

....who's next to go?..I'll run a book... Pugh 6/4 Molesley 2/1 Stockley 3/1 Purches 5/1 Zubar 10/1

I think it will do him good with expiernce in league 2. Gregory is a good player but personly just like Arter they are better further up than playing deep.
Will-AFCB
Gregory has always been missing in action whenever I've seen him. Hopefully he can make a difference at Wimbledon.

Why would purchase go? plus i think Zubar will be Cover for Francis at RB if he gets suspended or injured, stockley on loan and probably moseley, Pugh to go permanently
AFCB_FAN
Good luck, he is just a fringe player at the moment and some will have to go, at least on loan. Our squad is too large. As regards Pugh, he was not that good during his cameo appearance at Yeovil, perhaps it might be time to let him go in January for a fee. I would prefer to see him stay but I am not sure where his mind lies at the moment.
believe!
Tbh honest I would sell Pugh for as low as 500k & I still think Moseley is still good enough to stay & he brings expiernce & has is differn't to the other midfielders. Plus I would miss his haircut.
Will-AFCB
believe! when he missed his penalty last week he looked like he didn't give a s***.
AFCB_FAN
Which is why I said I am not sure where his mind is at the moment.

^^ It was the JPT. I would be surprised if any of them gave a ***** :)
