AFC Bournemouth new signing Lorenzo Davids is looking forward to his new adventure after moving to England from Europe.
The 25 year old former Dutch under 21's international signed a two year deal at Dean Court on transfer deadline day after completing a free transfer from German Bundesliga side Augsburg, where he made 20 appearances last season.
Before moving to Germany, Davids had also played in the top flight of Dutch football, making over 130 appearances for Eredivisie side Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie after leaving Feyenoord without making an appearance.
The midfielder is the cousin of former Ajax, Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter and Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids and team-mate Frank Demouge, who has previously played with Davids in Holland believes Lorenzo plays a bit like his more famous cousin.
But the Cherries fans have had to wait for their first glimpse of Davids as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
Davids told BBC Radio Solent...
"The ambition from the club, for me, was a real big thing, and the chance to experience football in England and a new adventure, What I see now is a really great group. The way the manager and the coach train is good and I think the team is getting better and better every week, and hopefully we can celebrate at the end of the season.
"I have to come back and show what type of player I am. I can say a lot of things but it`s better to show it, and then people can talk and say he is this kind of person.
"I twisted my ankle and two of the ligaments were ruptured, but I didn`t have an operation and they say will be fit in two weeks. I hope the two weeks will go well and then I will be back."
