Tubbs: I haven`t been given a chance

AFC Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has spoken about his frustration at being left out of the Cherries squad this season.

Tubbs re-joined AFC Bournemouth for a fourth spell at Dean Court on 30th January 2012 in a move that was reportedly the clubs record transfer.

The fee was undisclosed, but reports suggested that Crawley accepted a fee of around £800,000.

He signed a three and a half year deal with AFC Bournemouth and scored on his debut, but a groin problem caused him to miss a number of games through injury before he underwent surgery in April.

Over the summer former Crawley manager Steve Evans was keen to take him to League Two side Rotherham United, but failed to agree terms with the Cherries despite a 'significant six figure bid'.

Rotherham then returned with a new bid last month, which didn't involve a permanent move for Tubbs but instead Evans offered to take him away from Dean Court on a loan deal.

But despite manager Paul Groves rejecting the bids explaining it would not make 'sense' to let him leave, Tubbs has featured for just 27 minutes in the league this season, with two late substitute appearances against Portsmouth and the team from stadium:mk.

Former club Crawley have also reportedly shown an interest in taking Tubbs away from the Goldsands Stadium on loan and Tubbs would not be against a move away if he continues to be left on the sidelines.

Tubbs told the Daily Echo...

"I came here to play football and I`m not at the moment which is very frustrating. I want to be playing and if I am not going to be playing here, then I want to go and play somewhere else...'

'...We`ve had a few games now and I haven`t been given a chance...'

'...Whether I can go on loan depends on all the parties involved but, at this moment in time, I am a Bournemouth player and I will continue to work hard in training and get my head down as I always do...'

..when the dutch striker is fit then Tubbs will probably slip down the rankings a bit more...let him go Paul and he will prove somewhere else that he is a decent player...I'll get you something to wipe the egg off your face!

please please give him a chance in our team

I think Groves knows he would look bad if he preferred one of Bradbury's signings over one of the many he has made (Grabban, Mcquoid). I thought in pre-season that Tubbs looked sharpest, but he was never given a chance. But I guess if you spend as much money as Groves has, you need to make it look like it was worth it.

I'm shore most afcb fans are behind Tubbs. Groves You've seen Thomas & Grabban now give Tubbs games as he does know how to finish previding he gets the chances.

Agree, would like to see him play a few games but I suspect Groves will 'farm him out'. It will be interesting to see if the team moves on from the good performance at Yeovil.
believe!
Would be the worst decision ever if he let him leave, he could easily be our top scorer this season
