Groves: Good value for the win

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves thought that his Cherries side had earned their win over Yeovil on Saturday.

The home side had started the season well, they went into the game second in the League One table with 3 wins and a draw from their opening League One games of the season, whilst the Cherries were yet to record a victory this season, with three draws and one defeat during the opening four games of the League One campaign.

But despite the dominant performance in terms of possession, once again the Cherries failed to convert their chances and had to rely on a Richard Hughes free-kick to seal the points.

Groves told afcb.co.uk on Saturday...

"We maybe not have got what we have deserved this season, but we were good value for the win today",

"We dominated the game and the opposition didn`t have a shot on target. I`m delighted for the supporters who came along in large numbers. In the last week, they have travelled to Sheffield, Portsmouth and now Yeovil in the last seven days. It`s a lot of travelling and it`s fantastic that they can go home after seeing a win.

"It`s great for the players because they deserved that in respect of how they have been playing and what they have been doing. In the way we have dominated the majority of games this season, it couldn`t keep going on that we wouldn`t win...'
