Redknapp: This is home for me

Harry Redknapp hopes that he can help out the Cherries during his time as 'advisor' to the club.

AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell met with Redknapp on Friday morning and the announcement that Redknapp had returned to AFC Bournemouth in a non-contract capacity was announced on Friday afternoon.

The Cherries former manager, who left Dean Court in 1992 before managing West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton and Tottenham before being heavily linked with the England job ahead of Euro 2012, will join AFC Bournemouth without an official job title, but will work alongside manager Paul Groves and assistant manager Shaun Brooks.

The trio have worked together previously at Portsmouth, with Groves and Brooks part of Redknapp's coaching staff at Fratton Park.

Redknapp told the Daily Echo...

"...if I can just weigh in with little bits here and there, and if they want to ask my opinion, I am only too pleased...'

'...this is home for me, this is where I live. I spent nearly 10 years here as manager so I love the club.

"It is not a case of me coming in for any reason other than Eddie asked me if I could just give them a little bit of a hand if I can, where I can. I will do that."
