AFC Bournemouth midfielder Wes Fogden has been pleased with his return to action following a shoulder injury.
Fogden injured his shoulder in mid April after falling awkwardly in training. The injury required an operation and it was believed that Fogden would be out for around six months.
But his rehabilitation went well and he returned to light training in July and following a consultation with the surgeon at the end of August, he was cleared to return to full contact training.
After less than a week of training and missing all of pre-season, Fogden was included in the squad for the 5-3 defeat to Sheffield United and he made his return for the final 13 minutes of the game.
Cherries manager Paul Groves then included him in the starting eleven for the Football League Trophy match against Portsmouth on Tuesday, where Fogden put in an eye catching energetic performance in the Cherries midfield.
Fogden told afcb.co.uk...
"I`ve only been back in full training for a week and a half, and I felt bit leggy towards the end of the (Pompey) game but I was pleased to get some minutes under my belt,"
"I was out for five months and it was nice to get back playing, and for it to happen so soon after returning to training is really good for me.
"Once you are out there, you forget about the injury you had and just concentrate on the game. I`m an all or nothing player, and I felt like I gave it my all on Tuesday...'
