MacDonald: Lads can be positive and confident

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald believes the squad can travel to his former club Yeovil in a positive mood.

The Cherries are still seeking their first win of the season after being knocked out of the Football League Trophy by Portsmouth on penalties last (Tuesday) night.

Despite the defeat AFC Bournemouth largely impressed in front of the Sky Sports cameras and created enough chances in normal time to normally wrap up the result.

MacDonald scored a brace in the game and is looking forward to taking that form to Huish Park. The midfielder enjoyed four loan spells with Yeovil between 2009 and 2011 making over 60 appearances.

MacDonald told afcb.co.uk...

"...I think all the lads can be positive and confident, and if we can perform like we did and create as many chances, then we could win by a couple of goals.

"We were happy with our performance but didn`t get the result we deserved. If you look at the stats and the chances we created compared to what they did, then I thought that showed that on another day we would have won the game.

"The lads who stepped up to take a penalty had the guts to do it and none of them were to blame for us going out. We had chances to finish the game off, including myself, and I should have got my hat-trick."
