Barnard: It will be a big game

AFC Bournemouth loanee Lee Barnard is looking forward to the Cherries Football League Trophy match against Portsmouth on Sky Sports.

The Cherries return to Fratton Park just a short few weeks since their last visit for the 1-1 draw on the opening day of the new League One season.

Barnard made his debut for AFC Bournemouth in that game after completing a loan move from south coast neighbours Southampton.

The striker marked his first appearance in a Cherries shirt with a goal and he was again on target against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Barnard told afcb.co.uk...

"It`s always nice to go to Portsmouth and it will be a big game, and fingers crossed we can get through to the next stage,"

"I`ve settled in really well, the boys have made me feel really welcome and I`m enjoying my football, I feel good at the moment. I`m getting fitter and sharper with each game, I`ve scored a couple of goals and we just need to get a few results now.

"I`ve got two in four and if I can keep that up, then I will be very happy."

It should be massive for Groves but I don't suppose it will be!
