Evans: We are taking defeat on the chin

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans admitted that he had tried everything to sign AFC Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs.

Earlier this evening Steve Evans admitted that he had failed to persuade the Cherries to release Tubbs ahead of the transfer window closing this (Friday) evening.

The Cherries striker had been the subject of a renewed bid by former manager Steve Evans to take him to League Two side Rotherham United.

After failing to agree terms with the Cherries earlier in the summer with a 'significant six figure bid', Evans who previously worked with Tubbs at Crawley renewed his interest in Tubbs this week.

The new bid didn't involve a permanent move for Tubbs but instead Evans offered to take him away from Dean Court on a loan deal.

The approach was rejected by AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell and Evans told themillers.co.uk...

"We are taking defeat on the chin with regard to Matt Tubbs,'

"We have tried everything, we made a financially good offer and also a good loan offer but full credit to Paul Groves and Eddie Mitchell, they have said he is not available and is a big part of their plans."

Look we nedd to start selling and a club that needs Tubbs so much should have put down the dosh or shut up! Loaning out players for development does not apply to Tubbs so a xash offer would have made the deal! Now are you thinking what I am thinking? We are spending too much and after Christmas if we are not producing then a massive fire/closing down sale beckons! Oh dear oh dear! I hope that we start scoring very soon! Good luck to all the signings and oh dear I see we have signed another injured one at AFCB the largest rest home in Dorset!!

Mr. Evans if you cant get tubsy to rotherham why dont you come to afcb and let groves go to your club, then we will have some passion to win games! might be a problem with your chairman accepting groves the muppet!
