AFC Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick has asked the fans to be patient as the Cherries build a their promotion push this season.
After eight new signings over the summer and a number of injuries disrupting the squad, the Cherries have started the new football season slowly.
All four games have ended with stalemate, the League Cup game ended with defeat on penalties to League Two side Oxford United whilst the opening three League One games ended in draws.
Against Preston, the Cherries went down to 10 men mid way through the first half, but took the lead when a well delivered Marc Pugh cross was headed home by Elphick.
But the Cherries couldn't hold on to all three points, as Preston equalised through Sodje, who beat Elphick in the air to head home past Jalal.
Elphick understands that the expectation levels around the Goldsands Stadium is high, but hopes the supporters will stick with the side as the team improves over the next few months.
Elphick told the Daily Echo...
"There is a lot of expectation on us this season. We have had a lot of coverage from the press so I can understand the fans are getting frustrated.
"But we are a young and hungry team and are going to strive for what we all want to achieve and that is promotion. Everyone in the changing room wants to be playing in the Championship and our expectations match those of the supporters...'
'...We are a young team, which people can forget. We are hungry and want to win every game but, with that, we can be a bit naïve. We just need the fans to stick with us and get behind us because the wins will come."
