Groves: No sense in letting Tubbs go
AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves does not see the sense in letting Matt Tubbs leave the Cherries.
The Cherries striker had been the subject of a renewed bid by former manager Steve Evans to take him to League Two side Rotherham United.
After failing to agree terms with the Cherries despite a 'significant six figure bid', Rotherham manager Steve Evans who previously worked with Tubbs at Crawley renewed his interest in Tubbs this week.
The new bid didn't involve a permanent move for Tubbs but instead Evans offered to take him away from Dean Court on a loan deal.
The approach was rejected by AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell.
Groves told the Daily Echo...
"They have persistently tried to get us to release Matt whether it be buying or loaning him. I don`t see the sense in relinquishing one of our strikers and taking us down to the bare minimum."
