Rotherham rekindle Tubbs interest

AFC Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has been the subject of a renewed bid by former manager Steve Evans to take him to League Two side Rotherham United.

At the end of last season, Evans made his first move to take Tubbs to Rotherham and the ambitious League Two side made a 'significant six figure bid', which would have broken Rotherham United's own transfer record, but the Cherries rejected the approach.

In July Evans revealed that he had moved on from following up his interest in Tubbs after the Cherries had made it clear that he was not for sale.

But seven weeks later and Evans has renewed his interest in the Cherries record signing, making a fresh move to take Tubbs, who is yet to start a league game this season for the Cherries, on loan.

However the move was rejected by AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell, who told the Daily Echo...

There has been interest from Rotherham but, at this moment in time, he is with us and we want him with us."

Well play him then, Thomas is lacking confidence and Tubbsy is thriving to play. Start him Saturday against Sheff Utd if he has not moved on by then.

Thomas is useless and couldn't score in an open goal. We sould give Tubbs a game

Thomas is not useless. Okay he missed a one on one chance on Saturday but that was because the goalie made a great save low down with his left hand. He also saved a certain goal for them on the goal line and, whilst playing up front on his own, he won the throw in that led to our goal. It’s probably time to see what Tubbs has got but Thomas is not useless.
Cheshunt Cherry
I totally agree with Cheshunt Cherry - Thomas is(was) a great goal scorer, however this game is 50% confidence .... this is installed by management and team mates. Unfortunately Thomas' seems to have been sapped out. BaldrickGroves has some great players and as everyone knows, management is 50% intellect and 50% man/person/team motivation ...with both of these a manager should be hitting 100% for himself and therefore instilling it in his players. Unfortunetaly BGroves is only hitting about 25%(intellect) and 10%(motivation), a rating which is mediocre by any standard.

I think that the jury is still out on Tubbs at this level, I also agree that he needs to play a few games after his injury. The problem with Rotherham is a) they don't have the funds to buy him and b) a choice between the beaches at Bournemouth and those at Roterham. Really should be a no-brainer!

Let our record signing go out on loan......I don't think so, that would be madness, give him a run in the team and let's see what he has got. Thomas has been given so much time and is failing to find his scoring boots, he needs to be rested and give Tubbs a chance.

Cheshunt is correct. Thomas is far from useless his all round play is very good and he has scored 20+ goals in a season for Cheltenham when they were relegated. His problem is confidence. Plus yes he did win the throw that led to our goal on Saturday and also cleared off the line after the usual Jalal disaster. So without him on Saturday we may not have got a point.

Tubbs hasnt been given a chance, one goal in a few games before injury and then he hasnt started in a competitive game since. Groves needs to give him few starts.

The truth is I don't see where Tubbs fits in the picture. Thomas atleast if he's a sub he can bring on that injection pace. I would like to see more starts from Tubbs & maybe sell him in January if he don't deliver the goods.

apart from the odd few we have a decent squad just need a decent manager who is allowed to develop them and play his strongest 11 every game.
