Robinson to rejoin Cherries? *updated*

Huddersfield Town midfielder Anton Robinson has been linked with a return to the Cherries by a national newspaper.

Robinson left the Cherries in August 2011 for an undisclosed fee, signing a three year deal with Huddersfield, but failed to really establish himself in the squad, making 30 appearances in all competitions as they won promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.

He has not made an appearance so far this season.

The Daily Star has reported that the 26 year old will return to Dean Court on loan.

However AFC Bournemouth director Tom Mitchell has denied the report.

Daily Echo reporter Neil Perrett posted on Twitter...

"Tom Mitchell has dismissed a report claiming #afcb have signed #htafc's Anton Robinson on loan and says they have no plans to do so."

"Director Tom Mitchell describes as "rather random" a report suggesting #afcb have signed #htafc midfielder Anton Robinson on loan."

Robinson was linked with the Cherries earlier this month with AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves admitting that both Robinson and retired Richard Hughes 'fit the bill'.

Groves told the Daily Echo on 3rd August...

"They are both players we are more than aware of and players who have got good pedigree so, if something were to materialise, then certainly we would look at it.

"I know Richard very well. He has played at the highest level and, as a holding midfield player, fits the bill. Anton is somebody that people know. They are both decent players in their own right..."

The Cherries have since agreed to sign Richard Hughes, who has played 45 minutes in a behind closed doors friendly but is yet to officially sign.

I really hoppe this is true at last a ball winning hard running midfielder why is it that Groves is weeks behind the fans when he makes signings, this follows a target man, goal scorer and centre back that the fans saw was needed months before our manager all this should have been sorted pre season.

..If he can get back his 'mojo' with us then I would prefer him over Partington as a defensive midfielder...but you have to wonder just how many players Groves needs before he can provide us with a team capable of challenging at the top of this League?

Love to see Robinson back, a good player and we don't have his type in the Squad.. The squad is too large and would expect to see some of the younger players going out on loan soon.

The squad is too large full stop. Our ground will only hold 10,000 and that's only if we play the scummers and if we get back to winning ways. PG hasn't a clue what his strongest team is adding more players won't help in that respect.

Tom has his good points. I don't expect Robinson to come here and is more guff from a national newspaper. Expecting P.N.E. to be caught by our tactics today with an easy win by a margin of 2 goals. 2-0, 3-1 .. Worth the ticket price
