Groves: Arter has got a part to play

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves has backed Harry Arter to continue to develop.

Arter was dropped from the starting line up for the match against Portsmouth on Saturday after previously starting in the League Cup against Oxford.

The midfielder replaced Joe Partington at Fratton Park and could be in contention for a starting place this (Tuesday) evening against the side from stadium:mk with Shaun MacDonald doubtful.

Groves believes that Arter's consistency and decision making will improve as he continues to develop.

Groves told the Daily Echo...

"Harry has got a part to play. On some days, he can be excellent. On other days, you look at it and would like to think he could do a little bit better.

"But people have to remember that Harry is 22 and is working hard to nail down a regular place.

"He is a good player and, technically, he shows that. Maturity and decision making are scenarios to keep Harry improving but that will come as he progresses and learns."

Harry is still 'work in progress' but he needs to stop getting booked, play more consistently and stop trying to play the 'wonder pass' every time. Noot sure how long we can wait for that to happen though...

Maturity & decision making can come with expiernce but i believe if you play the lad behind the striker he will shine his best.
