Meades: This club is moving forward

AFC Bournemouth have signed trialist Jonathan Meades after impressing during pre-season.

The 20 year old was released by Cardiff manager Malky Mackay earlier this summer and has been bidding to impress Cherries manager Paul Groves enough to earn a contract at Dean Court.

Meades featured twice during pre-season away to Havant & Waterlooville and at the Goldsands Stadium against Reading and his performances were enough to earn a two year contract to join the Cherries on a permanent basis.

But whilst he has been signed to offer competition to left back Charlie Daniels, Meades is confident his versatility will see him break into the first team.

Meades told afcb.co.uk...

'I feel I have done OK in the games I have played and I`m determined to get in the side, that`s what I`ve come here to do. I`m a left back, but can play at right back or in midfield, so I have that to my game, and I can do a job wherever I`m asked to play.

"I went in to town with my family after the game on Saturday, and I do have some family down here that I have visited a few times and I know it`s really nice place.

"This is not a step back at all. I`ve seen the new training ground and that looks really nice. The pitch is great, the stadium looks good and everything about this club is moving forward."
