AFC Bournemouth's development squad lost 3-1 to Wimborne Town on Wednesday evening.
With quite a few of Chris Hargreaves side featuring during the Cherries defeat to Cardiff on Tuesday, the Cherries fielded a number of the youth team in the starting eleven.
The Cherries also handed a trial to Liechtenstein international Benjamin Buchel, who played the first half in goal.
Wimborne Town managed by head of the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss fielded a number of players who have previously come through the youth system at Dean Court.
The young AFC Bournemouth side had the better of the first half, but failed to create an opening as the sides went in at half time goalless.
But while the first half was just edged by the Cherries, the home side controlled the second half with Wimborne striker and AFC Bournemouth commercial executive Tom Jeffes opening the scoring in the first minute of the second half.
Jon Blake doubled the home sides lead less than a minute later before former AFC Bournemouth youth team player George Webb made it 3-0, the Cherries consolation goal came from Brandon Goodship during the final five minutes of the game.
Jeffes told wimbornetownfc.co.uk...
"Bournemouth were a young hardworking side, They really made us work hard, particularly in the first half. But they seemed to run out of ideas in the second.
"Our display showed how much we have improved over the past 12 months. We`d have lost this game last year.
"It was a very good performance and with the new season only just over a week away it came at the right time,"
