O'Kane: Looking to make an impression

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O'Kane was pleased to have got his first performance at home out of the way.

The 22 year old former Republic of Ireland under 21's international moved to Dean Court last month in a £175,000 move from League Two side Torquay United.

On Tuesday night, he made his first appearance in a Cherries shirt, featuring against Conference South side Basingstoke Town for the first 75 minutes before being replaced by Jayden Stockley.

On Saturday he lined up alongside Shaun MacDonald and Joe Partington in Cherries midfield for the game against Premier League side Reading and was awarded the man of the match award for his first game at the Goldsands Stadium.

O'Kane told afcb.co.uk...

"It was nice to get the first game here out of the way. It`s always a little bit nerve wrecking when you are at a new club and playing your first home game. It`s playing in front of your own supporters and you always want to make an impression. I thought as a group we did well. Reading are a Premier League side and we matched them and controlled the game for spells and 2-2 in the end was a fair result."
