Cherries open new training ground

AFC Bournemouth hosted a celebration reception for the opening of the new training ground on Saturday.

The event took place before the Cherries first fixture of the 2012 pre-season campaign at the newly named Goldsands Stadium.

To celebrate the new two year sponsorship of Dean Court, Goldsands management representatives John O'Neill and Ana Salomao, were joined by AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell and former AFC Bournemouth manager Harry Redknapp in the new Bubbles champagne lounge.

After drinks, they then headed out of the Cherries tunnel and around the stadium to the new training ground in Kings Park.

Hundreds of AFC Bournemouth supporters turned out to see Redknapp officially open the new facility, by cutting the ribbon alongside the Mayor of Bournemouth.

Redknapp then had the honour of scoring the first goal on the new pitches, beating Eddie Mitchell with a well taken spot kick.

AFC Bournemouth legend Steve Fletcher and Redknapp also posed for photos with Olympic torch bearer Jack Delaney from the charity U Support.
