Demouge set for operation

AFC Bournemouth striker Frank Demouge will require surgery on his knee after the Dutch forward suffered the injury in training.

The 30 year old striker made his first appearance for AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, playing the first half against Winchester City.

He had missed the opening two games of pre-season against New Milton and Poole Town, after being given longer to adapt to the English game by Groves.

The Dutchman then missed this weeks games against Basingstoke and Havant & Waterlooville and it has been revealed that he will face a period on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Fellow new signing Josh McQuoid also faces an anxious wait after he injured his ankle against Basingstoke, while defender Steve Cook is expected to return in time for the friendly against Cardiff after suffering a back spasm at Havant.

Donal McDermott is also expected to return against Cardiff after suffering discomfort in his left gluteus, while Steve Fletcher will miss the next 7-10 days with a dead leg.

AFC Bournemouth physio Steve Hard told afcb.co.uk...

'Frank Demouge twisted his knee in training on Tuesday, and after a scan it appears he will require an operation on his knee. He is going to see a surgeon next week. We do not have any time frames until I speak to the surgeon.'

'Josh McQuoid has an MRI scan on his foot this evening.  He took a kick to his right heel in the first couple of minutes at Basingstoke.  He carried on for the rest of the half, but afterwards was unable to put weight on his heel.  He has been on crutches and in a boot for protection.  Hopefully it is just soft tissue bruising or bone bruising, but we are having the MRI scan to confirm this...'

'...During the warm up at Havant, Steve Cook's back went in to spasm, so we took him out of the team as a precaution. We will assess him closely over the next couple of days, but will probably miss the Reading game, but will have an eye on returning for the Cardiff match next Tuesday...

Waste of money,no bottle.

It was Napoleon who always asked before appointing a Marshall - but is he lucky. With six injuries already, plus the three long term injured - the answer re Paul Groves is probably not. Demouge is it seems another Steve Lovell, but am rather more concerned about McQuoid at this moment in time - he does look a real threat! whilst, so far, our other strikers don't.

Hmm, I've got a nasty feeling we're not going to see much of Frank.

One of my mates moved to Holland and adopted Fc Utretch and he did say that Demouge was really big and strong and had a good shot on him, but he has always had trouble with knee injuries for the last few years keeping him out of the team.
