AFC Bournemouth continued their pre-season campaign with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Conference South side Basingstoke Town on Tuesday evening.
With the Cherries travelling to Havant & Waterlooville this (Wednesday) night, AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves once again split up his squad, with some players set to feature this evening.
The game gave the travelling Cherries supporters at the Camrose a first look at latest signing Eunan O'Kane who came to AFC Bournemouth last week from League Two side Torquay United in a £175,000 deal.
He played in midfield alongside Joe Partington, Harry Arter and Marc Pugh.
Shwan Jalal was named in goal behind a defensive four of Gary Bowles, Stephane Zubar, Adam Barrett and Charlie Daniels, while Josh McQuoid and Matt Tubbs featured up front.
The Cherries got the scoring under way on the 20 minute mark when Partington played in Pugh.
Before the half time break, McQuoid hit the woodwork, before doubling the Cherries lead, but unfortunately this would prove to be his last bit of action as he was substituted at half time with an ankle injury. He was replaced by academy striker Alex Moth.
Within two minutes of the second half getting back underway, Pugh set up Matt Tubbs to put the Cherries three clear, Pugh was again instrumental for the fourth, as his cross forced Nathan Smart into an error, putting the ball past his own 'keeper.
Alex Moth scored the Cherries fifth goal of the evening, before Paul Groves rang through the changes. Strugnell came on for Barrett, Cargill for Bowles, Wakefield for Daniels, Stockley for Partington, Gilkes for Arter, Jamal for Pugh and Makoni for Tubbs.
Basingstoke scored a consolation goal from Delano Sam-Yorke to finish the match 5-1.
