Groves: We haven`t had any bids

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves doesn't want to lose any of his better players, but wouldn't categorically state that the Cherries would not sell anyone.

Groves has signed five players so far this summer and is looking to have competition throughout his squad in every position, he is still likely to make further movements before the season begins, with left back Darius Waters currently on trial.

One player who could be set to depart Dean Court over the next year could be Cherries favourite Marc Pugh.

Pugh's contract expires in eleven months time and the midfielder has publicly declared that he wants the opportunity to play in the Championship.

AFC Bournemouth have so far received no offers for Pugh or any other player, but it has been reported that Burnley, Huddersfield and Charlton could be interested in Pugh, while Derby and Watford have also previously been linked.

If the Cherries do not agree to sell Pugh before the end of next season then Pugh will spend the 2012/13 campaign at Dean Court and will leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

Groves told the Daily Echo...

"You don`t want to lose anybody, especially your better players. The club wants to progress so that has to be taken into account. But it is a business as well so we have to look at everything when it comes to that. We haven`t had any bids or enquires and there is nothing out that I know of that could potentially happen going forward."

...take a chance on Pugh...if he helps get us promoted then he could go for free with my blessing tbh...

He cost us £100k. he has more than paid for himself. I too would be willing to see him go for free if we have a decent first half of the season

If we have a decent season overall he can play in the championship with us. Hope we keep him too.
