MacDonald: Look to keep improving

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald believes the squad will continue to improve throughout pre-season.

The Cherries pre-season campaign kicked off against New Milton with a 13-0 victory, before a week long training camp in Southern Spain.

On Friday the squad continued preparations against Poole Town, losing 2-1, before a 3-1 victory over Winchester City on Saturday.

AFC Bournemouth are set for three games over the next seven days with back to back games against Basingstoke Town and Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, before hosting Premier League side Reading on Saturday at Dean Court.

MacDonald told afcb.co.uk...

"...It was very tough (in Spain). We went away and the weather was really hot while we did double sessions every day. It`s never easy in that sort of weather, but it has certainly made us fitter. It was tough but it was enjoyable too.

'It will change now as we have more games coming up. We will still have to do our running, which we need to continue to get our fitness levels up. We have a number of games coming up and the fitter we are, then the less likelihood we have of getting injuries. These games are coming thick and fast now, and we will look to keep improving."
