Cherries return to winning ways against Winchester

After naming half his squad against Poole on Friday night, the other half of Paul Groves side with the exception of Eunan O'Kane, got a run out against Winchester on Saturday afternoon.

That meant that Dutch striker Frank Demouge got his first taste of English football, as he was named alongside Josh McQuoid. Darryl Flahavan replaced Shwan Jalal, with captain for the day Simon Francis leading the defence with Steve Cook, Stephane Zubar and Charlie Daniels.

Donal McDermott, Mark Molesley, Joe Partington and Shaun MacDonald completed the midfield.

After Partington had hit the post, it was the non league side that took the lead with Michael Charles beating Flahavan.

The Cherries equaliser came on the half hour mark when Donal McDermott put Josh McQuoid through one on one with the Winchester 'keeper and the recent signing from Millwall made it level.

Just before half time, the Cherries went ahead with a McQuoid free kick and the Northern Ireland international completed his hat trick again set up by McDermott, to complete the scoring during the second half.

Demouge completed his first appearance for the Cherries with a first half performance and was replaced by Steve Fletcher at half time, to start the second half changes by Cherries manager Paul Groves.

Stockley replaced McQuoid, while MacDonald, McDermott and Partington were replaced by Moth, Jamal and Makoni.

To complete the changes Cargill, Strugnell and Case replaced Cook, Daniels and Zubar.

Some clues as to the probable first team - with up to seven places decided I feel, interesting that Molesley played the full 90 minutes. We will know more when they face tougher opposition this coming Saturday.
