Groves: Expecting a more competitive game at Poole

AFC Bournemouth return to action this (Friday) evening with their second pre-season game of the summer at Poole Town.

The Cherries only pre-season friendly so far was against New Milton, AFC Bournemouth fielded two strong sides for the fixture and ran out 13-0 winners.

Since that game Paul Groves side has enjoyed a Spanish training camp and Groves is planning to use all of his squad again this evening at the Tatnum.

It is pay in the gate, Admission is £8 for adults, £4 for concessions (senior, NUS, disabled and under 18), £2 for under 16s and it`s free admission for under 10s with an adult. The programme is £2 and the kick off is at 7.45pm.

New Cherries signings Frank Demouge and Eunan O'Kane could make their first appearances or the club.

Groves told the Daily Echo...

"We will mix up the two teams, but some of the players will spend longer on the pitch. The team will be supplemented with players from the development group when it comes to looking after personnel.

"I expect it to be a bit more competitive because Poole play at a higher level than New Milton so it will probably be more of a test. Hopefully, we will be a little further down the line with regard to our levels of fitness and a little more organised when we don`t have the ball.

"We are not interested in results during pre-season. We are interested in building our play, building our work and making sure the players have a good level of fitness and understanding of how we want to play in and out of possession."
