Cherries set to sign O'Kane

AFC Bournemouth have reportedly completed the signing of Torquay United midfielder Eunan O'Kane.

On Tuesday evening it was reported that Torquay had accepted a bid from a 'mystery' League One club for the 22 year old midfielder.

O'Kane came though the youth system at Premier League side Everton, before being released three years ago.

He went on to join Northern Ireland side Coleraine, but after impressing during one season in his home country he moved to League Two side Torquay United and has made over 100 appearances for them.

He has also played for both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland at under 21's level and was previously a target for Sean O'Driscoll at Crawley Town, but after Crawley triggered his £175,000 release clause, he failed to agree personal terms and rejected the offer.

On Tuesday evening he missed Torquay's pre season friendly against Tiverton Town as it was rumoured that the Cherries had put in an offer, which had also triggered his release clause.

According to Sky Sports O'Kane has agreed terms with the Cherries and is set to sign a three year contract to move along the south coast to Dean Court.
