Mitchell: It will always be Dean Court

AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has conceded that most people will continue to refer to the Cherries home as Dean Court following a new stadium sponsorship deal.

The Cherries announced a new deal with Goldsands Management earlier this week. The newly formed London based private concierge service are believed to have paid around £50,000 for the deal which will see Dean Court renamed to the Goldsands Stadium for two years from 1st August.

Mitchell has revealed that he knows very little about the company and that the deal was initially put forward by a 'mutual friend'.

BBC Radio Solent's Twitter has previously reported that Goldsands are based at a property in Surrey, shared by a company who include petrochemicals in their portfolio.

Last month the Cherries received a £6million loan from Wintel Petrochemicals Ltd, a company where AFC Bournemouth co-owner Maxim Demin is listed as a director.

Mitchell told the Daily Echo...

'I don`t think the stadium will be anything other than Dean Court to most people and probably to everybody deep down.

"But when you have got the opportunity to sell the space and the name, it is an attractive proposition because it is visible and will be in the press.

"We have taken the opportunity to sell the name and are very pleased we have found these people to come in and take it on. They have paid up front, which was good for us, and it is a figure that has superseded anything we have had before for the stadium rights...'
