Flahavan: It is all about hard work

AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan has enjoyed the first couple of days of the Cherries Spanish training camp.

A 22 man squad travelled to Spain last week to enjoy a five day training session before returning for the Cherries next fixture against Poole Town on the 27th July.

The Cherries are based in San Roque in southern Spain where the squad have enjoyed a few hard training session in the heat of the Costa del Sol.

Flahavan told afcb.co.uk...

'We arrived here on Friday to the training camp at 2.30 Spain time, and we were out on the training ground by 5.30. It took a little while to get used to the heat because it was in the early thirties even then. It was good though to get out there and we all got a good sweat on!

'It`s a nice hotel here with a pool and a golf course. The training pitch is excellent and it`s been a very good exercise. We were never under any illusions that we were coming here for any sort of holiday and we all knew that it is all about hard work. It`s not like a tour when you can train, play games and go out. We are in for two sessions a day, working hard and by the end of the day, all the lads are really tired!

'It is hot here, so the schedule has really just been training, eating and sleeping. We have all been working really hard over here, but we do have the afternoons to ourselves and most have us have just been lying by the pool and getting the rest we need...'
