Groves: Rofe will be invaluable

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves believes new first team coach Dennis Rofe's experience will be a big addition to his backroom team.

AFC Bournemouth added former Southampton coach Dennis Rofe to their back room team last month.

Groves began his backroom re-shuffle in May, with AFC Bournemouth reserve team manager and defensive coach Ryan Garry, First team sports scientist Louis Langdown and performance analyst Rob Page all leaving Dean Court.

Paul Groves added performance analyst Garvan Stewart to his backroom team, which swiftly followed his first addition to his staff with Dan Hodges being named as the clubs new head of sports science.

The Cherries then added 62 year old Rofe to the position of first team coach.

Rofe had been working as a regional youth development officer for the Football League, but the majority of his experience came from his time at Southampton where he has worked with their youth academy, reserves squad and as a first team coach.

He has also worked with Bristol Rovers, Stoke, Fulham, Kingstonian and Luther Blissett's annual Premier League Soccer Camp in the Bahamas.

Groves told afcb.co.uk...

'I think he brings a world of experience, not just in football but in life, and I think that's crucial when you're making important decisions,'

'Dennis will help us with that and the day to day running of the football club. He's enthusiastic, his manner is fantastic and I could go on about his qualities.

'I'm sure he will be invaluable to this football club in the years to come.'
