Groves: Couple of targets earmarked

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves believes he has narrowed his search for a new left back down to two possibles.

With the departures of former AFC Bournemouth club captain Warren Cummings, who has recently joined League Two side AFC Wimbledon, Scott Malone who moved to Millwall as part of a deal which saw Josh McQuoid return to Dean Court and the release of youth team graduate Paddy Hester, the Cherries only have one recognised left back amongst the squad.

Groves has been keen to add to his options and provide competition for first choice left back Charlie Daniels and the Cherries manager believes he is making progress in securing the latest addition to his side.

Groves told the Daily Echo...

"We have got a couple of left-backs that we have earmarked at the moment.

"But, as it stands, we are still not in a position to be able to announce anything or say anything about who it is.

"It is getting narrowed down and we are getting to a stage where, hopefully by next week, we can have people in and around it to be able to fill that position."

Hopefully we will have this sorted soon so the squad can get to know each other and form a good team spirit needed to get us challenging for promotion?
