Groves: Mancini trial a possibility
AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves has confirmed that former Manchester City youngster Andrea Mancini could join the club on trial.
The Cherries were first reported to be interested in Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini's son Andrea by The People newspaper in June following the 19 year old striker's release a month earlier.
Andrea Mancini joined Manchester City in November 2010 from Italian side Bologna after initially coming through the youth system at Internazionale while Roberto Mancini was first team coach there.
Last season he spent two months on loan at Oldham, only making two substitute appearances, before joining Lega Pro Seconda Divisione (fourth tier in Italy) side Alma Juventus Fano 1906, making seven appearances.
Speaking about a possible trial Groves told the Daily Echo...
"There is a strong possibility that may happen but it has not been 100 per cent confirmed yet.
"If it did, it would be to be involved in and around the development group.
"Everybody recognises he is young and has got a little bit to do to get around the first team."
