Demouge: Cherries move was what I was looking for

New AFC Bournemouth signing Frank Demouge has said that the challenge of moving to England was the adventure he was looking for.

The 29 year old Dutch striker will officially join the Cherries on 1st July on a free transfer from Eredivisie side Utrecht.

He agreed a two year contract with the Cherries after being impressed with the ambition of the club after meeting manager Paul Groves.

Demouge told Dutch football magazine Voetbal international...

'This foreign adventure is exactly what I was looking for, I was looking for a new challenge and English football always interested me.

'Bournemouth has a Russian owner (Maxim Demin) and they have a lot of ambitions. I have heard some good things and I know the club want to gain promotion next season.'

I bumped into a Utrecht season ticket holder on FIFA 12 the other night. He had this to say: "I have got a season ticket for FC Utrecht so i have been seeing him play for 2 years. Hes strong, a hard worker, quite slow and not really tachnical. He was really loved by the supporters though because of his mentality, he always kept on fighting even when the rest of the team had already given up. He was not really happy anymore in Utrecht and wanted to leave. Utrecht let him go because of financial problems and he was not really important anyway (he was the 2nd striker but he played much because the first striker was coping with kneeproblems for a long time). I think hes a good one for a club like Bournemouth." So essentially he is a young Steve Fletcher? I cant wait for the season to start!!!!!!!!
