Cherries confirm Demouge deal

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that FC Utrecht striker Frank Demouge will join the club on a free transfer.

The 29 year old Dutch striker has agreed a two year contract with the Cherries and the deal will be officially completed next month subject to the completion of a medical.

6ft 3in Demouge, came through the youth system at Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie, before moving on to FC Eindhoven, FC Den Bosch and Willem II Tilburg before moving to Eredivisie side FC Utrecht in August 2010, initially on loan before making the move permanent last summer.

He scored 8 goals in 26 appearances during his first season with Utrecht, including one goal against Napoli in the UEFA Europa League.

Last season he scored 7 goals in 23 appearances, with five of those goals coming in his final four appearances of the season.

Groves told BBC Radio Solent...

'Frank has scored goals in a top Dutch league, he is experienced and he knows the game, He has lots of good attributes that I think will help the football club progress and cause teams problems.'

'We've had to sell the football club and the vision of the football club, We've had to sell the ambition and we've done a lot of long, hard work behind the scenes to attract Frank to the club because he is already playing at a good level now.

'But he wants to try a different challenge, he liked the feel of the football club and the area...'

....good signing IMO...things are shaping up quite well

addison would be a good signing to either enforce the defence or a holding midfielder (even though we dont need one - apparently!)

We're going to win the league the Brazilian way - by scoring more than everyone else!

Good spot by the co-owner - ambitious signing. Sorry PG, we still need a marvyn/anton replacement in this league...

Sounds like a good move but now we need someone who will run around the pitch and be able to give balls to the wide players who will be able to give him good service. without this he will be useless and will only help with the puntball tactic.
