AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves has dismissed the need for the Cherries to sign a midfield 'enforcer'.
At times last season the Cherries lost the battle in the centre of the park to teams who had a much stronger central midfield and this has led to rumours that AFC Bournemouth could attempt to bring former Dean Court favourite Anton Robinson back to the south coast from Huddersfield, following their promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.
But Groves has dismissed the speculation linking Robinson with a return and believes the Cherries can control games next season as a unit, rather than with the use of a ball winning midfielder.
Groves told the Daily Echo...
"When people talk about enforcers, I think it is very difficult to enforce in the modern game...'
'...we want to make sure that we concentrate on our team playing the way our team plays. We feel that is more important.
"We accept that you have to try to stop the opposition playing and we will do that as a unit rather than giving that one particular job to one individual. That needs to be a collective thing..."
