Groves: Still looking to secure Addison

AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves is still hopeful the Cherries can secure the permanent signing of Derby County defender Miles Addison.

The 23 year old central defender became a popular addition to the Cherries squad during the end of season run-in with a string of good performances whilst on loan alongside central defensive partner Steve Cook.

Following the end of his loan spell, Addison returned to Derby County where he still has one year remaining on his current contract.

However the defenders future lies away from Derby with their manager Nigel Clough revealing that Addison would be allowed to leave the club over the summer.

In May, Clough revealed that they had received interest in Addison from other clubs in the Championship, but the decision over which club he would join would be Addison's.

Groves told BBC Radio Solent...

'Miles is someone will are still continuing to do work around,'

'I've spoken before about how quiet June is and even the early parts of July with regards to speaking to agents, clubs and players,'

'He is somebody we are still looking to pursue and still looking to secure.'

Regardless of what people think. I think securing Addison would be a top signing.
